Jamaican fare, fried chicken, and Neapolitan pizza in the historic NOLA neighborhood

Algier’s Point is a sweet spot, the second-oldest neighborhood in New Orleans accessible by ferry or a trip across the Crescent City Connection bridge. Walk the levee for the best view of the New Orleans skyline and stroll the neighborhood, taking in the charming Victorian architecture and family vibe. There’s been a fairly recent uptick in restaurants available to serve both locals and East Bankers, with restaurants like Plume, Nighthawk Napoletana, and Tonti’s Bistro transforming Algier’s Point into a diverse dining destination in its own right. This line-up focuses mostly on the Point, but there are a few spots in greater Algiers that also deserve discovery.
